Trim Items Finishing Procedures

Prime and Paint Trim Items

  1. If wood is raw it will be pre-sanded and primed
  2. Trim that needs to be primed and painted will receive on coat of primer and two coats of paint (with sanding between coats)
  3. Woodco's Extrude Coat Primed Trim receives on coat of finish paint.
  4. After full cure and quality control, lineal casing/base is tube boxed in box's of thirty pieces each. 7-0 Stop and 7-0 Casing is coffin boxed accordingly. Jambs are also coffin boxed.
  5. Nail hole putty is now available to match Woodco's standard colors.

Stain/Seal/Topcoat Trim Items

  1. Spray stain is applied, followed by two sets of automatic wipers.
  2. One coat of Acrylic Urethane Sealer is applied and racked onto drying racks by an automatic racker.
  3. After sealer has cured, trim is run under two sanding processes, then receives a Semi-Gloss Topcoat and racked to cure.
  4. Trim items provided by customer are wrapped in bundles of 10 and placed on a cart or palletized.
